Well, quite a bit has changed since my last post hasn't it? At the time of this writing, the Coronavirus has taken over the world and most of the country is under a stay at home order. All non-essential workers have been sent home. Luckily for me, I can work at home rather easily.
Honestly, some of the things I was planning for my business this year, now have to be put on hold because in the current climate they just seem indifferent and callous. So I'm busying myself other things and spending more time with my immediate family.
What's your day to day like?
I'm still working. My clients need their websites and their social media pages now more than ever. So I've been assisting them to develop marketing plans and services that can be done completely online.
I've also taken some time to learn some new things such as video editing, new techniques for building better websites, and faster ways of doing things that I don't like to do so much. I've even had some time to read a book or two not related to web development.
One thing I didn't expect is that I would become my children's teacher. It's been fun, frantic, stressful, a learning experience for sure. I've found a new reverence for teachers dealing with children's attitudes all day long. The good news is I've had my first parent teacher conference and while the kids need some discipline, the teacher is excellent.
I am open for new projects should the need arise. There are several ways to move forward while following our current safety guidelines. And if you are currently a client of mine reading this you know I am there for you.
Any Issues We Should Be Concerned About?
There has been no indication services will be interrupted. The servers can run with minimal staff and unless there is a hardware failure of some kind, most work can be done remotely for everyone's safety.
As for me? My schedule has not changed much. I'm available for (virtual) meetings and phone calls during the day but the bulk of my work is done during the evening.
Do You Have Any Resources For Us?
If you are not already following Pixel Garden Studio on Facebook that is a good place to start. It's where I share the articles I come across that I feel can help my clients. They may help you too. Another place to subscribe is the Pixel Garden newsletter. Anything newsworthy, of dire import, or related to your business gets posted there.
We're all in this together. We can get through this. I hope you all are safe and healthy. God bless.
